The OMG Contemporary Music Opportunity, administered by Music Australia (Creative Australia), offers Australian citizens or permanent residents who are practising music artists a grant of $3,000 to $20,000 to support unexpected, short‑notice career‑defining opportunities. Eligible activities include international residency or fellowship placements, support tour slots, international festival appearances (excluding showcases), collaborations with major Australian or international headline acts, writing sessions with established songwriters, TV appearances, and global online platform features. Applicants must contact a Music Australia Officer to confirm eligibility and open the application form. The grant can cover artist fees, management costs (up to 50% of the budget), travel, accommodation, insurance, freight, childcare, and accessibility expenses. The program does not fund showcase events, album production, education, passport costs, relocation, or capital purchases. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis whenever a qualifying opportunity arises, provided the activity will start within 2–8 weeks of submission and the offer is confirmed. No application fee is required.

Open to Australian citizens or permanent residents who are current practising solo artists, bands, ensembles, DJ/producers, electronic artists, songwriters or composers. Must have a confirmed short‑notice opportunity (within 3 weeks) that will start within 2–8 weeks. Cannot have received OMG funding in the same financial year or be a Music Australia Council member.
