Sir-William-Orpen-Preis – Der Orpen-Preis 2026

The Sir William Orpen Prize, also known as The Orpen Prize 2026, is an open competition for self‑portraiture. It is open to all Irish artists living in Ireland or abroad and to any overseas artists who reside in Ireland. Submissions may be a painting, drawing or sculpture and must be created in a non‑digital medium. The competition offers a total prize fund of €5,000 (cash and/or vouchers) to be shared among the top three selected works. The winning pieces will be exhibited at the United Arts Club, 3 Fitzwilliam Street Upper, Dublin, and will also be shown online. The call opens in January 2026 and the deadline for entries is 27 November 2026 at 8 pm. There is no entry fee; the submission fee is listed as non‑refundable but no amount is required. Selected artists are responsible for delivering and collecting their works, with no housing or travel support provided. The prize is awarded annually, making this a recurring competition.
