Über Diese Gelegenheit

Stage IX Immersive Arts Residency (2027) is an open call for artists and artist duos based in the Netherlands who work across immersive media such as spatial sound, XR, VR, AR, interactive installations, kinetic and light‑based works, immersive theatre and technology‑driven performance. The programme supports four artists – two Emerging (2–4 years professional experience) and two Established (5+ years) – offering substantial financial support: Emerging artists receive an €18,000 artist fee plus a €5,000 R&D budget, while Established artists receive €26,000 plus a €15,000 R&D budget, amounting to total awards of €23,000 and €41,000 respectively. Residents benefit from eight months of funded research (extendable to ten months), a dedicated workspace at Ruimtetijd in Fort Penningsveer, on‑site accommodation during intensive periods, and access to a wide range of technical facilities across the Stage IX consortium, including spatial audio studios, XR and motion‑capture equipment, volumetric capture, exhibition spaces and prototyping labs. The residency also includes mentorship, peer exchange, workshops, and public presentation opportunities. Applications are free, require an online form, project proposal, CV and portfolio, and must be submitted by October 16, 2026. The call is recurring, with the next edition slated for 2028.
