Mesa Refuge 2027 – Künstlerresidenzen
Mesa Refuge
Über Diese Gelegenheit
Mesa Refuge offers three two‑week residencies each year for writers and activists who are tackling pressing social and environmental issues. The program welcomes applicants of any career stage from anywhere in the world, but gives priority to nonfiction books, long‑form journalism, documentary film, and podcasts, as well as first‑time residents. Residents live together in a house in Point Reyes Station, CA, each with a private bedroom and shared kitchen, and receive at least two meals per day, studio space, and partially accessible housing. Travel, transportation and most meals are the responsibility of the resident. An application fee of $35 helps cover review costs; fee waivers are available on request. Applications are submitted via Submittable and must include a short writing sample (max 2,000 words), résumé, headshot, brief bio and two references. Applicants will be notified in early 2027. The deadline for the 2027 cohort is 4 October 2026. No stipend is provided, but the residency itself is free of charge.
