Über Diese Gelegenheit

Project Ability, founded in 1984, is a Glasgow-based visual arts charity and gallery that champions diversity and inclusion in contemporary art. The organization runs a year‑round programme of workshops, exhibitions and community events, and occasionally opens its doors for artist‑in‑residency projects. The current residency is a 4‑week Artist in Residence programme aimed at visual artists based in Glasgow who are interested in working with or supporting people with learning disabilities and mental ill‑health. Participants are invited to develop new work in the organisation’s studio space, receive mentorship from resident artists and staff, and culminate the residency with an exhibition of the work produced. The programme offers studio access and an exhibition slot; accommodation and travel support are not provided. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis, with no fixed deadline, and the call is free to submit. Applicants should be visual artists, preferably based in Glasgow, and should demonstrate an interest in inclusive practice. The residency provides a supportive environment for artists to experiment and engage with a community that values creative expression.
