IBEC, the Institute for Bioengineering of Catalonia, is looking for a highly motivated Postdoctoral Researcher to join its Spatial Biotechnology Group. The role focuses on designing, building, and validating automated liquid‑handling workflows on an Opentrons Flex platform, establishing and running spatial proteomics on in‑vitro co‑cultures, engineered 3D tumour models and tissue sections, and implementing clonal barcoding and lineage tracing readouts. The successful candidate will scale perturbation experiments to high‑throughput formats, integrate robotics, automated microscopy and sample tracking into reproducible end‑to‑end pipelines, and develop computational pipelines for image processing, cell segmentation, debarcoding and spatial statistics. The position requires a PhD in life sciences, bioengineering, biotechnology, computational biology or a related discipline, solid wet‑lab experience, programming proficiency in Python and/or R, and experience with spatial proteomics or transcriptomics, DNA barcoding, and quantitative image analysis. IBEC offers a full‑time, open‑ended contract with salary according to IBEC pay scales, benefits such as parental leave, flexible working hours, paid holidays, and a mentoring programme.
