Global Korea Residency
Victoria and Albert Museum
Über Diese Gelegenheit
The Victoria and Albert Museum (V&A) is offering a one‑off Global Korea Residency, funded by the Korean Ministry of Culture, Sport and Tourism and the National Museum of Korea. The four‑month residency runs from 1 February 2027 to 28 May 2027 at the V&A South Kensington, London. Selected artists will receive a £16,000 bursary on a contract‑for‑services basis, a materials budget, studio space within the museum and access to the V&A’s extensive Korean collection, including ceramics, textiles, fashion and contemporary design. The programme encourages interdisciplinary work that explores colonial narratives, digital culture, hybridity, craft and design, and other themes linked to Korean art. Residents are expected to conduct research, develop new work, present an open‑studio event, and take part in the Korean Craft and Design Symposium. Applications are open to emerging to mid‑career artists based in the UK who have the right to work in the UK and whose practice is influenced by Korean arts. The application closes on 21 October 2026.
