Offene Ausschreibung für ein Künstlerresidenzprogramm: „Decoding Depression“
Joint Research Centre (JRC), European Commission
Über Diese Gelegenheit
The Joint Research Centre (JRC), together with the EU Policy Lab and the Centre for Advanced Studies, launches an open call for an artist‑in‑residence to investigate depression and mental health from an interdisciplinary ‘environome’ perspective. The six‑month residency runs from January to June 2027 (flexible start) and is based at the JRC site in Ispra, Italy, requiring a minimum of 20 on‑site days, with the remainder of the work possible remotely. Selected artists receive a total budget of €15,000 covering fees, a living allowance, accommodation and travel. The residency offers close collaboration with researchers, policymakers and scientists, access to extensive data and reports on mental health, mentorship, and the opportunity to present a closing performance or work. Applicants must be professional artists of any discipline, legally able to work in the EU, and must have personal or close experience with depression – a mandatory eligibility criterion. Experience with artistic research and societal issues is advantageous. Applications close on 18 October 2026; submissions are sent as a single PDF to the provided email address. The call is open to all nationalities and disciplines, with the aim of generating critical, creative insights that can inform EU mental‑health policy.
