Über Diese Gelegenheit

The National Film and Video Foundation (NFVF), an agency of the Department of Sport, Arts and Culture, has opened its Call for Public Screening Funding for Cycle 1 of the 2026/27 financial year. The programme provides financial support to individuals, companies and organisations that wish to organise public screenings of South African films in indoor, outdoor, community‑centre or drive‑in venues. Applications are accepted from 20 July 2026 and close on 17 August 2026 at 17:00. Eligible applicants must be South African (individuals, companies or NGOs) and meet the tier criteria (Tier 2 – 5‑10 years of experience; Tier 3 – less than 5 years). The call requires a detailed project outline, budget, screening plan, company registration documents, tax compliance, and other supporting materials. No application fee is charged. Successful applicants will receive a grant to cover costs associated with venue hire, equipment, promotion and audience‑engagement activities such as Q&A sessions.
