Maine, United States
Monson Arts
Frist: September 15, 2026

Über Diese Gelegenheit

Monson Arts, an initiative of Maine’s Libra Foundation, offers fully funded artist and writer residencies in the small town of Monson, ME. Each year the program invites a cohort of five visual artists and five writers to live and work in renovated historic homes. Residents receive a private studio, a private bedroom in shared housing, all meals, and a stipend of $500 for a four‑week stay or $250 for a two‑week stay. The residency provides access to a woodshop, metal shop, and, for photographers, a dedicated darkroom and digital studio through the Abbott Watts Residency. Applications are accepted three times a year (January 15, May 15, September 15) for residencies that take place 2–4 weeks later. The program is open to artists and writers of all career stages working in visual arts, writing, audio, video, photography, woodworking, movement, screen and playwriting, with no stated nationality restrictions. The next application window opens August 1 – September 15 2026, with a deadline of September 15 2026.
