Offene Ausschreibung für das „Mattress Factory Studio“-Residenzprogramm

The Mattress Factory, an artist‑centered museum in Pittsburgh, PA, announces a new Studio Residency program for 2027. The open call seeks two local artists who can regularly use a working studio in the museum’s 1414 Monterey building. The residency is self‑led, non‑prescriptive, and process‑based, providing a six‑month rent‑free studio, a $1,000 materials stipend, studio visits with museum staff and external guests, invitations to museum events, a museum membership, and basic tool support. Applications open on October 7, 2026 and close on November 9, 2026, with notifications sent by December 4, 2026. Residency periods run January–June 2027 (Residency 1) and July–December 2027 (Residency 2). Eligibility is limited to Pittsburgh‑area artists; currently enrolled students are not eligible, and applicants must have their own housing as the studio is not barrier‑free (accessible only via stairs). No exhibition component is included, and housing is not provided. To apply, submit ten work samples in a single PDF (max 25 MB) via the provided online form.
