Gray Area
Über Diese Gelegenheit
MadMapper 101: Projection Mapping for Immersive Environments is a four‑week, evening workshop offered by Gray Area in San Francisco (September 30 – October 21 2026). Participants meet on Wednesdays from 6 – 9 PM to learn the fundamentals of MadMapper, including interface navigation, surface creation, warping, masking, multi‑projector workflows, shaders, audio‑reactive visuals, and Syphon integration. The course combines instruction with hands‑on studio time; students work in pairs using shared projectors and mapping real surfaces from day one. By the end of the program, each participant will have designed and performed a complete projection‑mapped scene using their own or provided media. The workshop is aimed at beginners, requires a laptop with MadMapper installed (free demo version is sufficient), and provides projectors, projection surfaces, sample media, starter project files, and necessary cables. Diversity scholarships are available, with applications due by September 15 2026. Enrollment is limited and managed through an online ticketing system.
