Monash University
Über Diese Gelegenheit
The MADA Gallery, a contemporary art space at Monash University’s Caulfield Campus, is seeking applicants for its 2027 Curator‑in‑Residence programme. The year‑long residency provides the selected curator with the opportunity to develop and deliver two curated exhibitions, each of at least three weeks, engaging students and the wider community. Applicants may propose speculative, propositional, or experimental projects that align with the Faculty of Art, Design and Architecture’s priorities, including climate change, geopolitical security, and wellness. The programme offers a total exhibition budget of $18,000 plus a curator fee of $6,000 (including superannuation), with discretion to allocate funds across the two exhibitions. Additional support includes installation assistance, AV equipment, gallery assistants, digital promotion, professional documentation, and event opening costs. Proposals should include a project summary, CV, list of artists or works, installation plan, audience engagement strategy, and a draft budget. Submissions are to be compiled into a single PDF and sent by 20 August 2026, with decisions communicated in October 2026. The call is open to Australian and international practitioners, including Monash staff, students, and alumni.
