Short-Term Projects is part of the Canada Council for the Arts’ Creating, Knowing and Sharing program, which supports Indigenous individuals and groups, Indigenous‑led arts organizations, and arts/cultural sector development organizations across Canada. The grant provides funding for any combination of eligible creating, knowing, and sharing activities for projects lasting up to 12 months. Eligible applicants include First Nations, Inuit, or Métis individuals, groups, collectives, and organizations that are Canadian residents. Funding can cover a wide range of costs, including production, research, travel, and materials, with a maximum contribution of up to $100,000 CAD per project. Applications are submitted through the Canada Council portal, and the next deadline for the Short‑Term Projects component is November 4, 2026. The program is recurring, with deadlines in April, July, and November each year.
