Jentel Künstleraufenthalt

The Jentel Artist Residency provides dedicated individuals—visual artists, writers, and composers—with a supportive environment to develop their practice in the foothills of the Bighorn Mountains, 20 miles southeast of Sheridan, Wyoming. Two sessions run each year: a Winter/Spring session (January 15 – May 7) and a Summer/Fall session (May 15 – December 7). Applicants may submit online via Submittable; the Winter/Spring deadline is September 15 2026 (12:00 NOON MST) and the Summer/Fall deadline is January 15 2027 (12:00 NOON MST). Residents receive a private room, shared living area, kitchen, and an individual studio, as well as a $300 stipend paid weekly to offset living costs. An application fee of $30 and a $100 reservation deposit (due after award notification) are required; no other charges apply. Eligibility requires applicants to be at least 25 years old, U.S. citizens or residents, and not enrolled full‑time in a degree program (post‑doc fellows are eligible). Wyoming residents have a streamlined application. Pets and family accommodations are not provided, though visitor lodging is available in nearby Sheridan. The program emphasizes artistic merit, offering a professional development opportunity in a remote, contemplative setting.
