Hornsby-Kunstpreis 2026

Established in 2009, the Hornsby Art Prize is organised and sponsored by Hornsby Shire Council in partnership with the Hornsby Art Society. The 2026 edition offers a total prize pool of $23,000, including a major prize of $10,000, across five categories: Painting, Drawing, Printmaking, Photography and Sculpture. Open to all permanent Australian residents aged 18 and over (excluding judges and council staff), the competition requires original works created within the last 24 months and limits entries to two per artist. Each entry incurs a non‑refundable fee of $40 (including GST). Selected works will be exhibited at Wallarobba Arts and Cultural Centre from 16 October to 1 November 2026, with opportunities for sales through the Hornsby Art Society. Open to permanent Australian residents aged 18+ (excluding judges and council staff). For the Local Artist Award, residency in Hornsby Shire LGA is required. Works must be original, created between August 2024 and August 2026, and not previously exhibited in another competition.
