Stanford Doerr School of Sustainability
Über Diese Gelegenheit
The Global Sustainability Challenge (GSC) is a student‑centric competition launched by the Stanford Doerr School of Sustainability in partnership with leading universities worldwide. The 2026‑27 season invites interdisciplinary teams of 1‑6 university students to develop bold solutions in two themes: Sustainable Energy and Adaptation & Resilience. Teams must be enrolled in an accredited degree program, with at least one member 18 or older by 1 January 2027. The competition runs from September 2026 to May 2027, with three phases—Ignite (concept), Build (prototype), and Shine (global showcase). Participants receive mentorship from sustainability experts, workshops, and regional finals that culminate in a global finale in Hangzhou, China, on 20‑21 May 2027. The total prize pool exceeds US$35,000, distributed across the two challenge categories, and winners gain global recognition, networking opportunities, and potential follow‑on funding. Entry is free, and the challenge is open to students worldwide, making it a prime opportunity for emerging scholars to showcase their impact on pressing sustainability problems.
