Die Zukunft der Archive: Wem gehört das Archiv eigentlich?
The Photographers' Gallery
Über Diese Gelegenheit
The Photographers' Gallery invites submissions for its one‑day event “Whose Archive is it Anyway?” on 16 April 2027, the first in a three‑part series exploring the future of archives and archiving. The call seeks speakers who can share real‑life experiences rather than academic papers, focusing on topics such as artists’ and photographers’ legacies, reclaimed photographic archives, family archives, counter‑archives, grassroots initiatives, ownership, digital preservation and technologies that reduce barriers to archives. Applicants must be 18 years or older, able to attend in person on the event date, and submit a 400‑word summary together with a talk title via a short Microsoft form. The deadline for proposals is 1 November 2026 (11.59 pm BST); selected speakers will be notified by 18 January 2027 and will receive a £200 speaking fee. No application fee is required. The call is open to anyone with relevant experience, regardless of nationality or discipline.
