Über Diese Gelegenheit

The Fixed Focus Fellowship, hosted by Aurora PhotoCenter in Indianapolis, is a one‑year residency designed to help early‑career photographers (ages 18‑26) focus on creating new work. The program runs from January 29 – December 31 2027 and offers up to ten fellows a free 1‑year membership that includes access to the darkroom, scanners, and printers, as well as a $1,000 credit for studio services and alternative process workshops. Fellows also receive free core workshops in black‑and‑white and color film development, printing, scanning, and digital printing, one‑on‑one mentoring with the director, professional workshops on pricing and grant applications, and a monthly feedback dinner with the cohort. The fellowship culminates in a final exhibition on December 3 2027, where all work is available for sale.

Eligibility is limited to artists working in photography (or multidisciplinary projects that incorporate photography) who are residents of Indiana and aged 18‑26. No art‑school enrollment is required. Applications are accepted via email to info@auroraphoto.org and close on November 15 2026. Selected applicants will be notified by January 1 2026. The fellowship provides a supportive community, studio resources, mentorship, and a platform to showcase new work, making it an ideal opportunity for photographers seeking to build a portfolio and establish an independent practice.
