Film Independent x Humana Foundation – Kurzfilme

Film Independent x Humana Foundation Shorts is a short‑film fellowship program that selects five director‑producer teams to create original short films highlighting the lives and contributions of senior citizens. Fellows receive substantial production support (up to $100,000 per project), mentorship from industry professionals, and promotional assistance through Film Independent’s platforms. Applications are open to filmmakers worldwide, with the requirement that the project be a short film (typically under 20 minutes). The program runs on an annual cycle, with selected fellows announced in late December and the production phase beginning early the following year. Applicants must submit a project proposal, budget, and sample work, and pay a $45 application fee (waived for Filmmaker Pro members). No travel or housing subsidies are provided. The fellowship is based in Los Angeles, United States, but remote applicants may participate if they can attend required in‑person events.

Production budget, mentorship, promotional support, access to Film Independent network.

Open to director‑producer teams worldwide; project must be a short film; applicants must be at least 18 years old.
