Über Diese Gelegenheit

Thomasville Center for the Arts, in partnership with Ashley, invites sculptors to participate in Due South 2027: Birds of a Feather, a juried outdoor sculpture exhibition celebrating native birds of the Red Hills region. Artists may submit original, handmade three‑dimensional sculptures that incorporate lighting, meeting specific size, material, and installation requirements. The competition offers three categories—Birds That Sing, Birds That Dive, and Birds That Wade—each with nine designated bird species. A $30 application fee applies per entry. Selected works will be installed in two downtown Thomasville locations from April 1 to June 2, 2027, with an awards ceremony on April 1. Prizes include a Best of Show Overall award of $1,000, $400 for first place, and $100 for second place in each category. Artists retain 70% of any sales, with the Center keeping a 30% commission. The call is open to sculptors of any nationality; participants must attend the installation window and awards event.
