Über Diese Gelegenheit
The Grand Rapids Art Museum, collaborating with the Grand Rapids Film Society, is presenting the Michigan Experimental Cinema exhibition (Jan 30 – Aug 15 2027) in Level 2 Hunting Gallery. The exhibition showcases a rotating selection of experimental films made by filmmakers who reside in Michigan. Curated by Spencer Everhart, Jackson Ezinga, and Nicholas Hartman, the program highlights the diverse ways Michigan artists are expanding the medium. Filmmakers are asked to submit their work via FilmFreeway; selected works will be screened during two periods (Jan 30 – Apr 25 and May 15 – Aug 15, 2027). This call offers exposure through public exhibition and inclusion in the museum’s programming, with no monetary prize or stipend.
