Über Diese Gelegenheit
The CREART 3.0 project invites a professional media artist or an interdisciplinary duo to a four‑week residency at the newly opened Museum and Science Centre Tiima in Oulu, Finland. The residency runs from 16 November to 17 December 2026, during which the selected artist(s) will develop a concept for an immersive, spatial artwork to be presented in Visio, the Deep Space environment powered by Ars Electronica technology. Applicants must submit a single PDF containing a concept proposal, technical idea, work plan, CV/portfolio, motivation letter, and ID scan. The call is limited to artists linked to the CreArt partner cities or associated networks, ensuring a diverse European participation. Selected participants receive an artist fee (€3,500 for a solo artist or €6,400 for a duo), covered travel, accommodation, daily allowances, and dedicated curatorial and technical support, including access to the Visio environment and assistance in community engagement. The residency emphasizes inclusive themes of tolerance, belonging, and intergenerational dialogue, encouraging works that address social issues thoughtfully. Applications are submitted via the CreArt Open Calls platform by 1 November 2026, with notifications on 4 November. This residency offers a unique opportunity to experiment with large‑scale immersive media in a cutting‑edge exhibition space while fostering cross‑cultural collaboration.
