Lehrstuhl für Geschichte, Theorie und Kritik der Architektur (Tenure-Track-Stelle)

The Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art invites applications for a full-time tenure-track Assistant or Associate faculty position in the History, Theory, and Criticism of Architecture. Academic rank will be commensurate with credentials. Starting in fall 2025, this role will support our undergraduate professional five-year program (Bachelor of Architecture) and a post-professional graduate program (Master of Science in Architecture). We seek applications from architectural scholars whose research engages with the pressing issues of our time through a historical and theoretical lens. Candidates must demonstrate a strong record of scholarship, a dedicated research focus, and a well-defined pedagogical approach. An active research and publication agenda is essential. The school values dynamic scholars prepared to teach foundational courses in architectural history, upper-level undergraduate electives in their area of expertise, and contribute to the intellectual life of the school.
