Job Summary Backyard Cinema are looking for a Cover Stage Manager (On Book) to support our Stage Manager (On Book) with the smooth running of this year’s immersive Christmas experience in London Bridge. Job Description Location: London Bridge, SE1 (Custom-converted warehouse venue) Contract Type: Fixed-term, part time, freelance Dates: Rehearsals & Install: 17 - 23 November 2025 Live Performances: 24 November - 31 December 2025 (Closed Christmas Day & Boxing Day) Fee: £220 per day (11am - 11pm) Two days per week guaranteed for 5.5 weeks About the Event Backyard Cinema is bringing its sell-out immersive Christmas experience to London Bridge this year, transforming a warehouse into a magical festive world. Across five shows daily, guests are guided through a choreographed journey featuring live performers, theatrical effects, and a seasonal film screening inside a fully themed cinema space. It's fast-paced, high-energy, and beloved by thousands of returning visitors every Christmas - a true blend of theatre, live events, and festive spectacle. Job Requirements We're looking for a dependable and experienced Cover Stage Manager (On Book) to support the smooth running of this year's immersive Christmas experience. Working closely with the Stage Manager (On Book) and wider show team, this role will help coordinate performers, track cues, operate select show calls, and uphold the polished standard that Backyard Cinema is known for. Covering the role of SM twice a week. This role is ideal for someone with strong show-running experience, excellent communication skills, and a calm, professional presence under pressure. Job Responsibilities Support the Stage Manager during rehearsals, install, and live performances. Assist in preparing and maintaining the show book, cue sheets, and rehearsal documentation. Call or operate select performances. Liaise with performers, technicians, and front-of-house teams to ensure show readiness. Help maintain consistency in show flow, timing, and guest experience across all cycles. Log daily show reports, flag technical or operational issues, and ensure follow-up actions. Conduct pre-show checks and support with minor resets and cue rehearsals. Contribute to maintaining health, safety, and audience welfare protocols, including evacuation procedures. Essential Skills & Experience Previous SM experience in immersive, themed, or fast-turnaround live shows. Confident show calling and cue management ability.

Einschränkungen

Exceptional Skill: Mastery in one or more of the following: Cyr Wheel, Flying Pole/Pole, Contortion, Handbalance, Aerial Straps, or similar unique solo disciplines. Professional Training: Completed certified performing arts training or equivalent professional qualification. Stage Experience: Proven experience performing in professional stage productions (e.g., circus, theatre, variety shows). Creativity: The ability to present captivating, polished acts with strong stage presence. Language: Fluent in spoken and written English is mandatory. Work Ethic: Highly motivated, reliable, and a team player focused on guest satisfaction.
