Kunst, Kunsthandwerk und Materialforschung – Offene Ausschreibung 2027

Art, Craft & Material Research is an independent, artist‑run residency based in the Poble Sec neighbourhood of Barcelona. The 2027 programme invites emerging and established artists, designers, makers and researchers whose practice involves hands‑on experience with clay or wood to apply for a two‑week or one‑month stay starting around 11 January 2027. Residents receive a dedicated working area in a shared creative workshop equipped with ceramics wheels, wood‑working tools, sculpture equipment and general studio facilities, as well as technical guidance from the founders, Zofia Anna Krakowiak and Omid Sheikhbaglou. The residency supports material‑based research and interdisciplinary projects, encouraging experimentation, knowledge exchange and informal presentations of work in progress. Accommodation, travel, meals and personal expenses are not covered; artists must arrange their own housing. The residency fee is €600 for a two‑week stay or €1,000 for a one‑month stay, payable via deposit and balance before arrival. Applications are accepted until 30 November 2026 and must include a CV, portfolio, project proposal and preferred dates, sent by email to turbot@turbotdesign.com. No scholarships are offered, but external funding is welcomed.
