Bunnell Street Arts Center
Über Diese Gelegenheit
Bunnell Street Arts Center’s Alaska AIR Artist‑in‑Residence program seeks international, U.S. and Alaskan artists to develop new work and deepen community connections in Homer, Alaska. Residencies typically last between two weeks and one month and are scheduled from October through April. Each resident receives a $2,000 stipend, a travel stipend, private lodging (a bedroom with private bath), and access to a 1,000‑sq‑ft studio/gallery equipped with audio‑visual gear, a piano, printing presses, and Wi‑Fi. Artists are encouraged to present an artist talk, workshop, or public program and to exhibit or perform their work during the residency. The call is open to artists of any discipline—including visual, literary, performing, social practice, moving image, and digital media—and to artists at any career stage. Applications are accepted from September 1 to October 15, 2026, with a $25 application fee (waivers available on request). Selected artists join a small cohort of one to four residents each year, fostering collaboration and community exchange. The program emphasizes themes such as accessibility, inclusion, sustainability, and skill sharing, aiming to strengthen the social, physical, and economic fabric of the Homer community.
