The photographic call for entry “perspective” is hosted by A Smith Gallery in Johnson City, Texas. Photographers of any experience level may submit images that explore the concept of perspective, ranging from literal camera viewpoints to personal or conceptual outlooks. The submission deadline is August 17 2026, with results announced on August 28. Up to 47 images will be selected for an online exhibition running from September 11 to October 15 2026, and an exhibition catalogue will be published. Twenty‑seven of the selected works will be featured in a limited‑edition hardbound book titled “The 27”. Awards include a Visitors Award of $100 (determined by Instagram likes) and Juror and Director Awards that grant an online solo exhibition, a copy of the hardbound book, and a feature story on the gallery’s blog. The juror is Debra Klomp Ching, an established art consultant and curator. An entry fee of $40 covers the first five images, with $5 for each additional image; fees are non‑refundable. Photographers retain full rights to their images, which the gallery may use for promotional purposes, the online exhibition, catalogue, and the book. The competition is open internationally, but prior participation in an A Smith Gallery competition disqualifies an entry, and AI‑generated works are discouraged. Applications are submitted via the online form, with optional mail‑in payment. Selected artists receive exposure on the gallery’s Instagram and Facebook, and the opportunity to sell prints through the gallery’s online store (the gallery retains 30% of sales).

Work that has been previously exhibited in an A Smith Gallery competition is not eligible. We prefer not to accept images created with Artificial Intelligence at the present time due to the lack of clarity concerning copyright issues and the ongoing litigation associated with them.
