Wettbewerb für spekulative Literatur und Kunstausstellung 2027

Presented by the Society of Actuaries (SOA) Career Development and Emerging Topics Communities, the 2027 Speculative Fiction Contest & Art Expo invites creative writers and artists to explore the theme “The Human Equation.” The Speculative Fiction Contest accepts prose stories up to 6,000 words that incorporate an actuarial topic; the Art Expo welcomes visual, audio, and multimedia works (digital graphics, photography, painting, sculpture, video, music, poetry, screenplays, comics, etc.) with specific format limits. Submissions must be in English, created without undisclosed AI assistance, and entered under the creator’s real name. Eligibility is limited to SOA members and candidates who are legal residents of the fifty U.S. states or Canada (excluding Quebec). Prizes include cash awards ranging from $150 to $500, a prize package with a one‑on‑one writing consultation and an actor‑read audio version for the first‑place fiction winner, and additional category awards for actuarial career concepts, technology, futurism, people’s choice, and best first‑time entry. All entries are required to complete an online entry form providing contact information and, where applicable, links to multimedia works. The contest runs online with a submission deadline of February 28 2027. No entry fee is required.
