Ausschreibung für den Burwood-Kunstpreis 2027

The Burwood Art Prize 2027, administered by Burwood City Council, is now open for submissions. Artists based in Greater Sydney who are Australian citizens or permanent residents and aged 18 years or older may submit a single artwork responding to the theme “I Am Here”, which explores presence, identity and place in contemporary multicultural Australia. The competition awards a $20,000 acquisitive prize that will be added to the Burwood Council Collection, a $2,500 Burwood Local Prize for residents of the Burwood LGA, and a $2,500 Burwood Youth Prize for Sydney artists aged 16‑20. Entries are accepted until 7 February 2027. No application fee is required. Winners receive prize money, acquisition of their work, and inclusion in the 2027 Burwood Art exhibition. The call is part of an annual cycle, with the 2027 edition partnering with the Museum of Contemporary Art to broaden professional pathways for artists.
