Künstlerresidenzprogramm 2027 – Bereich Darstellende Künste

The Kyoto Art Center (KAC) offers an Artist‑in‑Residence Program that alternates annually between visual and performing arts. The 2027 edition focused on performing arts and accepted applications from emerging artists and researchers who could articulate a clear project and communicate in English or Japanese. Selected participants receive studio space at KAC, arranged accommodation for up to three months, round‑trip airfare to Kansai or Osaka airports, and a production subsidy of ¥200,000 (tax included). Additional support includes public‑relations cooperation and assistance from art coordinators. The residency period can be scheduled either from 1 May to 31 August 2027 or from 1 November 2027 to 29 February 2028. Applicants were required to submit an application sheet, CV, and a portfolio (max 5 pages) via the provided Google Form. No application fee was charged. The call closed on 31 July 2026, but the program is a recurring annual opportunity; future calls will be announced on KAC’s website.
