Tour Ready Lab (TRL) is a professional development program run by Counterpart (formerly Pentacle and The Field) that supports performing artists and companies seeking to expand their touring reach. The 2027 edition runs from August 24, 2026 to February 5, 2027 and offers two tracks: a Development Track and a Showcase Track. Both tracks include four interactive seminars covering presenter research, crafting a showcase, booking tools, pitch practice, and alternative touring models, as well as virtual office hours for individualized feedback on digital assets such as EPKs, tech riders, and budgets. Participants join an intimate cohort for peer networking and receive guidance on preparing for the APAP conference. The Showcase Track adds a 20‑minute performance slot at either the Ailey Citigroup Theatre or New York City Center Studios during APAP 2027, marketing support through postcards, website listings, and a dedicated artist webpage, plus a list of presenters for follow‑up and optional mentorship from a previous cohort member. Application is free; selected participants cover venue‑specific costs ($2,000 for Ailey, $1,500 for NYCC5, or $500 for the Development Track) and any APAP membership or conference fees. The program is open to artists working in dance, theater, music, and multidisciplinary fields, with the Showcase Track requiring prior touring experience and intent to attend APAP 2027.
