Head of Research, Impressionist & Modern Art

Christie’s, the world’s leading art business, seeks a Head of Research & Senior Writer to lead scholarly research and writing for the Impressionist & Modern Art department. Based in New York, the role involves composing lot essays for the 20th Century Evening Sale, collaborating with specialists, managing digital essay production, and contributing to client‑facing materials such as proposals and catalogues. Applicants must provide a relevant writing sample and have at least five years of professional experience, an undergraduate degree (master’s in art history preferred), and demonstrated expertise in Impressionist and Modern Art.
