2026 Community Print and Digital Media Applications Call (South Africa)

The Media Development and Diversity Agency (MDDA) has opened the 2026 Community Print and Digital Media Applications Call, running from 3 – 31 July 2026. The programme provides grant funding to community‑based print and digital media organisations across South Africa, with a particular focus on publications in indigenous languages that serve rural and historically marginalised communities. Applicants must be South African entities, not owned or controlled by commercial media houses or political parties, and must submit a range of supporting documents including company registration, tax clearance, audited financial statements, a business plan, a sample of media output, web analytics, CVs of key personnel, and a BEE certificate. The MDDA supplies budget and business‑plan templates and an online portal for submission. No application fee is required. Successful projects receive grant funding (amount determined per project) to support production, distribution, and capacity‑building activities.
