The City of Galveston, through its Arts Development Commission (ADC), is accepting applications for a 2026 Open Call to Artists with a total funding pool of $75,000. Eligible applicants include individual artists, artist teams, or artist‑led collaborations who are at least 18 years old and able to contract with the City of Galveston. Projects should demonstrate artistic excellence and contribute to cultural tourism, creative placemaking, and public engagement. Applicants must submit a completed application form, project narrative, detailed budget, timeline (with all work completed by September 30, 2027), CV, biography, annotated work samples, and a tourism & public benefit narrative. The deadline for submissions is 11:59 p.m. Central Time on August 23, 2026. Selected projects will receive grant funding up to $75,000 and are expected to fulfill reporting requirements and complete all deliverables by September 30, 2027. The program is part of the ADC’s transition to a quarterly municipal arts funding model, aiming to increase access, transparency, and support for Galveston’s artistic community.
