Marion Open Call – Atlas Arts

Atlas Arts is launching a new annual publication called Marion, scheduled for release in December 2026. The open call runs from 24 July to 31 August 2026 and seeks creative submissions across a range of disciplines – fiction, non‑fiction, poetry (up to 3000 words), visual art, script extracts, interviews and other creative contributions. Submissions may be original works or pitches for new pieces that will be commissioned if selected. The call is open to anyone from the islands of Skye, Raasay and Lochalsh, regardless of formal training, and accepts work in English or Gaelic. Selected new works receive a payment of £366.40, while existing works that have been previously published, exhibited or shared receive £200. All accepted pieces will be published in Marion, printed on demand by Making Publics Press, and featured alongside 15‑25 other contributions. A launch event is planned for 21 December 2026. No application fee is required. Submissions should be sent by 31 August 2026 at 10 am via email (Word/PDF or JPG/PNG) or WeTransfer, with the option to submit a pitch or a completed piece. The publication aims to showcase diverse voices, encourage humour, protest, lived experience and the blending of fact and fiction.
