Saffron, a Bristol-based music charity and PRS Foundation Talent Development Partner, is running its returning artist development programme for Black women and gender diverse music creators based in South West England. Beginning in Autumn 2026, the programme will support three artists through a comprehensive package including 1-2-1 mentoring, a residential creative retreat, music industry masterclasses/training, Saffron membership, publicity and marketing support, a showcase event, and a bursary towards music creation. The scheme has previously helped launch the careers of artists such as Marla Kether and Grove. Applicants must be living in South West England for the duration of the programme (September 2026 – August 2027), be a musical creative (e.g. music producer, composer, or instrumentalist), identify as a woman, non-binary, trans (trans man or woman), intersex or gender non-conforming, be Black or of Black heritage (e.g. Black British, Black African, Black Caribbean, including mixed-Black heritage), and be aged 18+ (no maximum age limit). Applications are submitted via a form included in the downloadable application pack. Access requirements are available for those who need additional advice or a video application option.
