The City of Reno is seeking artists or artist teams with prior public art experience to create a mid‑scale functional, wayfinding, or environmental sculpture for Dorothy McAlinden Park. The project aims to add vibrancy, reflect the urban and natural environment, and engage the community. Selected artists will work with City staff on community engagement, design, placement, fabrication, and installation. The commission includes a total budget of $81,000 covering artist fees, fabrication, insurance, transportation, travel fees, equipment, and installation, with the artwork to be displayed in the park. Eligibility is limited to artists and teams residing and working in the western states of Nevada, Arizona, California, Idaho, Oregon, or Utah, aged 18 or older, and able to visit the site in Reno. The timeline runs from July 2026 (application review) through July 2027 (fabrication and installation).
