The Arts Curator (Sir Bobby Robson Institute) is a freelance, part‑time Band 6 equivalent position (15 hours/week) on a fixed‑term contract of 18 months. Based at the new Sir Bobby Robson Institute (SBRI) on the Freeman Hospital site in Newcastle, the role leads the development and delivery of the SBRI Arts Plan. Responsibilities include commissioning and integrating artworks, managing community and staff engagement programmes, overseeing artist recruitment and induction, coordinating installation logistics, and supporting fundraising and communications. The post reports to the Head of Arts Programmes and works closely with Newcastle Hospitals Charity, Trust staff, patients, artists, and external partners. Salary is £39,959‑£48,117 pro‑rata (£30k‑£40k advertised). The successful candidate must have a degree or equivalent experience, extensive background in visual arts commissioning, and strong organisational and communication skills.
