Welcome to step into the legendary photographer’s distinctive visual world, filled with humorous glimpses of everyday life and sharp social satire. Fotografiska Stockholm and the organization MÄN are now inviting applications for an Open Call, an open submission process where the photographers and visual artists of tomorrow are sought for a group exhibition in the autumn of 2026. The topic of masculinity is more burning and relevant than ever, yet many perspectives are still missing from the public conversation. Ideas about what masculinity means are often rigid, and many men struggle to understand their role today. Through this open call, we want to reach a wide audience and discover new, emerging voices across Sweden. We want to create space for stories and experiences that otherwise risk remaining invisible, and discover visual expressions that challenge, touch, and broaden our collective understanding of masculinity. In collaboration with MÄN, we want to explore how men navigate social pressure, digital isolation, and escapism in our contemporary world. We are looking for nuanced images and video works that explore these tensions, but that also highlight the counter-forces: friendship, care, the search for identity, and the longing for belonging. This is your chance to exhibit at Fotografiska Stockholm and become part of an important, urgent conversation.
