The Open call for arts and health project proposals in Germany has opened on January 15, 2026. The country’s second national call for project proposals will then close on 31 March 2026. The call is open from 15 January to 31 March 2026. Selected artists will be notified by 15 May 2026. The project period runs from 01 June 2026 to 28 February 2027. In Germany, the Culture and Health Platform will support three artistic or cultural projects that aim to improve the health and well-being of individuals or communities in cooperation with partners from the health, social, or educational sectors. Each selected project will receive 8,000 EUR in funding and must be carried out between 1 June 2026 and 28 February 2027. Eligible projects may include participatory art programmes for people experiencing physical or mental health challenges; initiatives focused on preventing various health conditions; projects aimed at people at risk of mental health issues, loneliness, or social isolation; artistic interventions in healthcare or social environments that enhance these settings and support the well-being of staff, patients, or residents; artistic productions such as performances, installations, or exhibitions in healthcare or social contexts that promote well-being or draw attention to health-related issues; as well as artist residencies in healthcare or social care settings. Projects should either integrate new artistic practices into local communities and existing structures or strengthen established programmes in order to foster long-term connections and sustainability. Applicants must contact their partner organisation from the health, social, or educational sector before submitting the application. A short letter of collaboration from the partner organisation must be included. Participation in a one-day feedback workshop after the end of the project period (March 2027) is mandatory.
