À Propos de Cette Opportunité

The Fondation Jan Michalski’s Writing in Residency Grant Program supports authors and translators who have a connection to Switzerland. The residency takes place in the village of Montricher at the foot of the Swiss Jura Mountains, providing a quiet, nature‑rich environment for literary creation. Each year approximately forty writers are selected, either individually or in pairs, for stays ranging from two weeks to three months. Residents are allocated a private cabin (including one cabin adapted for reduced mobility) and receive covered travel expenses, a weekly stipend of 400 CHF, and meals (breakfast and lunch) provided on‑site. A small grocery shop is also available in the village. The programme gives priority to literary writers and translators but is open to all writing disciplines and languages. Families, children, and pets are not accommodated. Applications are free and open to writers and translators connected to Switzerland, with the deadline for the 2026 edition on 1 September 2026. The call is part of an annual cycle, making it a recurring opportunity.

Restrictions

There are no age or nationality restrictions. Beginners are accepted. Candidates are only allowed to submit one application per year. Former residents are not allowed to reapply.
