The Grand Center for Arts & Culture (GCAC) in New Ulm is accepting applications for its 2027 Minnesota Artist‑in‑Residence Program at Cellar Press. The residency offers Minnesota artists the opportunity to spend two to three weeks working in the Cellar Press studios, utilizing letterpress, printmaking, and bookbinding facilities to create new work or expand their artistic practice. Up to eight artists will be selected, with priority given to early‑career artists, though artists at all career stages are encouraged to apply. Residency benefits include free lodging at The Grand Apartment, a $300 weekly stipend, a materials stipend, all‑hours studio access, Grand Center membership, technical support and equipment training, participation in the annual Artist Residency Exhibition, and artist profiles in GCAC print and online publications. Applicants must be Minnesota residents with experience in printmaking, letterpress, book arts, or a related practice. Application materials include a résumé, artist statement, project proposal, community‑engagement proposal, availability, and a digital portfolio of six to eight images. Applications are open through Friday, August 14, 2026, at 3:00 PM CST. Selected artists will be notified by late November 2026, with residencies beginning as early as January 2027.
