CPR – Center for Performance Research’s year‑long Artist‑in‑Residence (AiR) Program seeks to support NYC‑based artists working within contemporary dance, performance, and time‑based art. Six artists will be selected for a residency running from January to December 2027. Residents receive a $2,000 stipend, 20 free rehearsal hours plus up to 150 subsidized hours, advance access to the rehearsal booking calendar, curatorial and project support, technical equipment, production support, and opportunities to present work through CPR’s Open Lab and Open AiR public programs. The program emphasizes experimental, interdisciplinary practice and encourages BIPOC, LGBTQ+, immigrant, disabled, and intergenerational artists. Applications are accepted until Monday, August 24, 2026 at 5:00 p.m. EST via a Google Form. Notifications are made in November 2026. The residency is limited to New York City‑based artists; CPR does not provide visas, travel, or accommodation.

Restricciones

Eligible applicants have previously had their work publicly presented, and have not been selected as a CPR Artist-in-Residence in the last 5 years. Individual artists, companies, collaboratives, or collectives may apply, but each applicant/application will be considered as a single residency. The residency is exclusively for New York City-based artists. CPR cannot provide US visas, travel, accommodations, or other living expenses in connection with the residency. Current undergraduate students are not eligible to apply.
