PHOTO IS:RAEL, the organizer of Israel’s premier photography event, is accepting submissions for the Main Exhibition of the 13th International Photography Festival, which will take place in Tel Aviv in October 2026. The 2026 edition is themed around citizenship, positioning photography as an active civic practice that gives voice to grassroots perspectives and democratic engagement. Artists are invited to propose works that explore how photography can claim visibility, document marginalised communities, and contribute to democratic resilience. The call welcomes a broad range of media – traditional photography, film, video, performance documentation, animation, and hybrid or interactive digital forms – and accepts up to twelve images (or equivalent visual material) per submission. Both existing projects and new works are eligible, and the call is open to artists of any nationality and at any career stage. Selected artists will be exhibited in the festival’s Main Exhibition, featured in the 2026 festival catalog, and highlighted on the festival website. The submission fee is $22 USD, which covers processing and presentation costs. The deadline for submissions has been extended to 6 August 2026. This open call is part of the annual cycle of the International Photography Festival, which has been running since 2009 and attracts thousands of visitors each year.
