The Royal Society Publishing Photography Competition 2026 invites photographers to submit images that illustrate scientific phenomena. The competition is organised by the Royal Society and supported by the Royal Photographic Society, with the competition page hosted on the Royal Society’s website. Entries are accepted in five categories: Astronomy, Behaviour, Earth Science and Climatology, Ecology and Environmental Science, and Micro‑imaging. The competition is open to anyone studying or working in science at graduate level or above, regardless of nationality. Submissions must include a photograph and a minimum 150‑word description of the scientific phenomenon depicted. The deadline for entries is 14 August 2026. Entry is free of charge. The overall winner will be featured on the cover of a Royal Society journal, while category winners receive recognition and exposure.
