Stiftung DaST: FRIGÉNIA Rural Landscapes Lab Residenzprogramm 2026 (Portugal)

Foundation DaST Rural Landscapes Lab artist residency programme ‘FRIGÉNIA’ will be held from 6 October to 19 November 2026 at Convento da Terra in Torrão, Alentejo, Portugal. FRIGÉNIA – Rural Landscapes Lab, an international multidisciplinary artistic research residency, invites artists to research and create in dialogue with the landscape, oral heritage and community of the Alentejo. This includes the ‘cante alentejano’ (UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage, 2014) and the oral poetry of the region’s oldest generation of rural women. The residency welcomes artists working in interdisciplinary research, landscape and ecology-based art, documentary practices (photography, film, sound), and literature, theatre or performance.
