In Europa ansässige Künstler können sich für das Programm „Night as Commons“ (Residenzen in Rumänien) bewerben.

The Night as Commons residency, organized by hypha_etc, offers a six‑week interdisciplinary program (1 October – 10 November 2026) in Vármező / Câmpu Cetății, Transylvania, Romania. The project investigates nocturnal ecologies, photoperiodicity and the cultural‑political dimensions of darkness. Selected residents receive accommodation in private studio‑apartments, a daily allowance of €30, travel allowances (€400‑€800 depending on distance), and various top‑ups (visa, OCT/OR, family, sustainable mobility). The residency provides access to a 7 200 m² research environment, including a dark sky, forest, laboratories, telescopes, 3D printer, and fully equipped workshop spaces, all step‑free and accessible. Interdisciplinary mentorship from experts in physics, biology and curatorial research supports the artistic development of participants. Applicants must be legally based in a Creative Europe country (including OCTs and ORs) and can be emerging, mid‑career or established artists, designers, architects, researchers or cultural practitioners working with light, darkness, temporality or ecological themes.
