The Potential Pool for Music Publishers is a grant program administered by Koda (the Danish music rights organization) supporting music publishers across all genres. The pool emphasizes publishers, projects, or creators in a start-up phase — such as newly established publishing companies or projects supporting young songwriters at the beginning of their careers, or authors returning to the industry after a break. All music publishers may apply regardless of nationality or Koda membership, provided they operate an ordinary music publishing business and hold a publishing contract with at least one songwriter (in addition to the owners). The pool funds four categories of projects: (1) Music export and dissemination of Danish music abroad, including travel, trade fair participation, and export activities; (2) Sync Grants for marketing recordings in relation to synchronization licensing; (3) Educational grants for training of publishers' staff and/or associated authors, covering voice training, singing lessons, compositional mentorship, and other non-SU-eligible courses; (4) Sustainability projects promoting a socially, environmentally, or economically sustainable music industry. Support amounts range from DKK 10,000 to DKK 50,000 per grant. The pool operates with two annual deadlines (January 15 and August 13). Applications are reviewed by a distribution committee, with decisions communicated approximately two months after the deadline. A maximum of three grants may be awarded per publisher per round, and a maximum of three grants may be obtained for the same songwriter before transitioning to the Publishers' Pool.
