Applications are accepted on a rolling basis after the fund reopens on July 20, 2026 (the site is closed July 10‑19). Applicants must have a substantial body of published work (traditional publishing or reputable outlets) and cannot rely solely on self‑published or vanity press titles. The fund prioritizes mid‑ and late‑career writers, especially those with medical emergencies, eviction threats, or other pressing needs, while early‑career writers may receive limited assistance for medical or family emergencies. No application fee is required. Applicants submit an online form or a downloadable Word application via email or mail. The support amount varies according to individual circumstances and is intended for essential living expenses, not professional costs such as equipment, travel, or promotion.
